Established in 2011

Community Transformation Ethiopia is a non-governmental indigenous organization established in December 21/2011 in Ethiopia and it had been licensed by the Federal government in Addis Ababa and re-registered 2019. CTE is community based organization, highly a child and family based organization that support unaccompanied minor, separated, orphan and vulnerable group of children and women. It’s also promoting child and women rights. Psychological support for depressed children is being run through targeted school at Nifas Silk and Addis ketema sub cities in Addis Ababa. Vulnerable women are being supported by providing educational support to their children while at the same time empowering their families through income generation activities. Its intervention of community development focused projects of many kinds in the last twelve years makes it to be differentiated by many as a vanguard of children’s, Youth, Women and community wellbeing and earned reputations and acceptance among beneficiaries, communities and local governments. Through its operation in the community, CTE has been actively engaged in livelihood development, education, health, economic empowerment, environmental protection; gender based violence, women development, and child protection and   brought a number of changes in the lives of its beneficiaries.

 

We are committed to responding to human needs among the marginalized communities, improved the physical, social and psychological living condition in addition to this equipping and empowering them to enrich their lives in full. CTE has a well-integrated and highly organized system of governance. The organization has board of directors as the highest decision making body with a supreme power of shaping the overall direction of the organization. The management committee represents a unique composition where each heads of departments as well as executive director are a member. CTE’s experience of managing projects in cost effective manner is also ensured through its use of resource mobilization and cost shares used across in its interventions.

Objectives

To provide community-based child sponsorship for very poor or HIV-affected or infected children, which will include physical, educational and psychosocial care through integrated development approach. And to empower youth to be productive and useful citizens in the community;  And To build up empowered, healthy, ethically disciplined and self-supportive Women or parents/guardians/ who are able to live the standard life in the community through small groups in self-help group (SHG) and Income generating activity (IGA) program, ensure gender equality.

Strategic Objective 1

Promote children, youth and women physical, educational/intellectual, moral, and psychosocial support; and skills development through effective community-based holistic support programming

Create safe, caring, preventive, inclusive & enabling environment for children, youth and women through effective partnership, advocacy works, civic engagement, peace building and conflict resolution /human rights-based programming

Improve children, youth, and women health and nutritional status through effective partnership with Health Institutions, other CSOs and Community-focused programming

Improve women’s economic empowerment through Self-Help group/IGA and gender equality by enabling them to advocate for their rights
